Blueberry Compote

A fruit compote is a colorful fruity sauce that has been stewed in a mixture of sugar and lemon that creates a decedent syrup to accompany cheesecake, waffles, ice cream or any other dessert you're enjoying.

What you'll need:
2 cups frozen wild blueberries
1/4 cup sugar or honey
1-2 Tbsp water
Juice of 1/2 a lemon

How to make it:
Combine the frozen blueberries and sweetener in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook down for about 10-15 minutes.

Add in the water and lemon juice when it starts to reduce and thicken.

Stir and smash the blueberries with a spatula until it is to your liking. You can also use an immersion blender if you don’t want any chunks in the sauce after it cools.

Serve warm or cold over cheesecake, waffles, or ice cream; and add to make a blueberry latte, lemonade, or spritz.
