Easy Apple Crisp
Apple crisp is a basic standard for fall desserts. This one is as easy as apples and boxed cake - literally. As the apples cook down, the juices merry into the cake mix and create the most magical caramelized crisp topping. It's a dessert everyone needs in their lives.
What you'll need: Serves 10
5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cubed
1 box yellow cake mix
1 Tbsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup melted butter (or butter alternative)
How to make it:
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Peel and cube the apples. Set in a 9x13 pan.
In a separate bowl, mix together the dry cake mix, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla, and melted butter; fully combine with a fork (or your hands). Sprinkle over the cubed apples and gently toss just a little bit.
Bake for 30-35 mins. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
If you make it ahead, heat back up in the oven at 200° F, loosely covered in foil while you eat dinner and it will be warm and ready to eat for dessert.
Enjoy!
