Garlic Infused Honey
Since the dawn of creation, God provided us with everything we need for a healthy body and mind. Garlic is one of these things! Garlic with honey is a powerful combination. It's antiviral, antibiotic, anti-mold, anti-parasitic, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and filled with antioxidants. Perfect to fight colds, flus, sinus infections and so much more. A study showed that having garlic everyday lowered the number of colds by 63%, and lessened the length of cold symptoms by 70%.
Raw honey is also full of antioxidants, enzymes, and minerals like iron, zinc, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and selenium. It also has vitamin B6, thiamin, riboflavin, and niacin. Because of its antibacterial and antioxidant properties, it's a great cure for the immune system.
If you're feeling under the weather, a spoonful of garlic and honey will help to kick your illness more quickly. For a daily immune system boost, take one spoonful a day in the morning, before eating or drinking anything. You'll start to experience more energy, and your body will be functioning at an optimal level of health. Or add a tsp to your food daily and notice the health benefits if you can't swallow it alone.
How to make it:
Lightly smash 7-10 garlic cloves, peel, and place them in a small jar with a lid. Fill the jar with raw honey just above the tops of the cloves. The jar size is the limit on how much you can make. Pack that jar full of cloves if you'll use it all!
Cover with a lid and leave alone on the counter for 30 days to brew. After the first 5 days, you'll notice bubbles as the fermentation process begins. Lift the lid to release the CO2. Lift again every several days.
After the month of waiting is up, enjoy in your cooking daily to reap the health benefits. Use it in salad dressings, stews, roasted chicken, and anywhere you need a garlic boost with a hint of underlying sweetness. The flavor is more garlic than honey so definitely use it in cooking!
